The Forest Plan offers the same level of care and compassion, but with additional features above the Fern Plan. Examples include the beautiful and sustainably sourced bamboo coffin, an additional limousine for loved ones or mourners, and the ability to visit the deceased at any time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the private chapel of rest by agreed appointment. Every aspect of the Forest Plan has been assessed for its carbon footprint and offset by investing in projects that prevent or reduce greenhouse gases.
You can also make special requests to personalise your funeral to your exact requirements‡. It may be a small detail, you may wish for a specific piece of music to be played, or a major aspect of the funeral, such as reflecting a passion for nature or the outdoors, with a request to be buried or having your ashes scattered in a woodland site.
The friendly and experienced team at Age Co's specialist partner, Dignity are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding special requests, big or small, and can be contacted on 0800 652 0548*.

The Age Co financial contribution for burial funerals
If you are considering other funeral plan providers, it is important to know that Age Co provides a contribution of £1,220 for burial funerals, which grows each year in line with the Retail Prices Index (RPI). This contribution can be used towards costs charged by third party providers, such as the costs of purchasing a burial plot from your local council, or Minister's fees.
It is worth checking that any contribution offered by another provider increases with the RPI, as some do not. Over 15 years, an Age Co contribution that increases by 2% per year would be worth an extra £421^ compared to one that does not. Age Co are proud to be able to offer this contribution and consider it market leading.
A guarantee for cremation funerals
All crematorium fees are guaranteed to be covered by your Forest Plan, no matter what happens to factors such as inflation or price increases during the period you are covered by it. The Minister of Religion or an Officiant's fee, equal to the amount paid for a standard funeral service at the crematorium or cemetery as listed in the Church of England Table of Parochial Fees, is also covered by a Forest Funeral Plan.
Not included in the Forest Plan |
Medical certification and coroner's fees |
Embalming, burial plot, memorial or headstone, flowers, catering and a wake |
Costs for removing artificial limbs and mechanisms such as pacemakers |
This list is not exhaustive, so please refer to the Terms and Conditions for further information |
